writing lessons
Try to write and draw every day!! Use the writing prompts below or make up your own. "Free" writing and drawing is always an option. We sent some story paper, bags of extra paper, and their journals. Use it all! We can replace it when they return. Have them go back through their journals and share with you what they have written and drawn. You will be amazed!!
PARENT TIPS:
1. Remember that writing is still new for the students.
2. Drawing is a pre-writing skill. Let them do lots of drawing, too.
3. Kindergartners will use inventive spelling. It's OK.

5. The students know to use their popsicle sticks to make spaces between words.
6. They know the three "end marks" are period, exclamation mark, and question mark. Remind them to use them.
7. Have fun and get creative! They love to write and draw!
